If you are contemplating or even in the midst of selling or buying a home,
this question will, sooner rather than later, pop up for consideration.
So, which is it? My answer is always the same: both. If you are involved
in the purchase or sale of a home, the reality of the situation is that
you are probably making the largest and personal purchase in your life
or dealing with the largest asset you will have short of your business
So, if you are this heavily invested then you should definitely want the
best advice and guidance. Realtors® and Attorneys are trained to provide
just that, advice and guidance during just this hectic time. Before you
sign a contract, if would make sense to disuses it with an attorney. The
Realtor® you have contacted should suggest or encourage this and if
not, don’t be shy, do it on your own. After all, it is your show.
Do not sign or pay anything until you are satisfied that you understand
your real estate contract, your terms, and that your interests are protected.
Both your attorney and your Realtor® can assist you from start to settlement.
It is well worth the small investment to protect what well may be your biggest!
